Sitota Gines Espinosa has signed and committed to St. John’s University in New York. She will suit up for the Red Storm next season.
The 5’9 guard played incredibly well during her time with the Rockets, starring for both our academy and D1 women’s team as well as working extremely off-the-court in the classroom. She has been one of the best defenders since arriving in England, leading the league in steals and was named WNBL defensive player of the year for the 2020/2021 season. Alongside her defensive efforts, she led the team in scoring and injected speed into the Rockets attack to score many points on the fastbreak.
Sitota is extremely grateful for her time with the Rockets, she said:
“The past 2 years have been a rollercoaster of highs and lows but it’s been amazing. I have made friends for life. I can’t wait for next year and what my future holds in America.”
Everyone at the Rockets is extremely proud of everything Sito has achieved as a Rocket and wish her all the best in New York and the rest of her career!
