Reading Rockets is a community club with basketball opportunities for children and adults of every experience level. Sessions are welcoming, developmental and designed to help players build skills, confidence, fitness and friendships.

Community Pathways

  • Micro and Mini Ballers: fun, age-appropriate basketball for children from Reception through primary school.
  • Junior development: progressive coaching and routes into Rockets teams.
  • This Girl Can: girls-only beginner and intermediate sessions for ages 8-16.
  • SEND: inclusive sessions from age 8; no diagnosis or previous experience required.
  • Wheelchair basketball: junior and adult sessions for disabled and non-disabled participants, with chairs provided.
  • Adult basketball: social, pay-as-you-go opportunities for beginners and returning players.
  • Schools and camps: curriculum programmes, Hoop It Up and school-holiday activity.

Most junior community sessions run during school terms, with camps and specialist activities during the holidays. New players can start with a taster session. For current timetables and booking links, visit the relevant programme page or contact community@readingrockets.co.uk.
