On Saturday afternoon Rockets travelled to East London to begin a double header weekend of away games in the capital. Lions were hungry and shot off to a 8-1 opening run before Zack Powell hit the first of Rockets trebles. Lions continued to shoot well and extended their advantage before captain
Ben Dixon stroked a treble. Lions roared on to a 19-7 lead but a brace of Jermiah Jenkins trebles , one on the buzzer, calmed Rockets supporters nerves as they trailed 20-27 at the first break. Lions downed a treble to get back to a double digit lead but that was the last of such an advantage enjoyed by the hosts as Lewis Champion hit a pair of free throws before a blue patch from Powell as he tip dunked a great score before making a slam dunk some 12 seconds later reducing the deficit.

Rockets were now flying and when Troy Cracknell hit a treble followed by a jump shot, Rockets had a lead that were not to lose as Cracknell hit another treble , took a charge and was successful form the free throw line as Rockets went to the locker rom 45-41 ahead after a 25-14 quarter. A Reis Pinnock drive and score extended Rockets lead but a brace of Lions trebles kept the home supporters interested . With Dixon, Powell and Jenkins successful form beyond the ark Rockets eased ahead finishing the period 71-56 ahead.
Thinking of the next days game, Head Coach Samit Nuruzade gave his full bench court time as the younger and inexperienced academy guys played their part in the 91-65 victory.
Top scorers for Rockets were Jermiah Jenkins with 20 pts, Troy Cracknell with 19 and Zack Powell with 18 .
