Reading Rockets are delighted to announce that Men’s Head Coach Samit Nuruzade has signed a new two-year contract, with an option for a further season.
Samit will continue to lead the Rockets into the 2026/27 British Championship Basketball season after an outstanding period of success for the club.
During the past two seasons, Samit has guided Reading to four major honours. The Rockets won the National Cup, KitKing Trophy and NBL Division One Playoff Championship during a memorable 2024/25 campaign. The team followed that success by becoming BCB League Champions in 2025/26, before reaching another playoff final.
Alongside his responsibilities with the senior Men’s team, Samit will work closely with the Rockets academy programme at HHS this season. His involvement will strengthen the connection between the academy and senior teams, while supporting the development of talented young players.
Samit has a long and successful history with Reading Rockets. His coaching experience, tactical knowledge and commitment to developing British talent will remain central to the club’s plans for the coming seasons.
